First, decide the type of fuel. If you use around some 10,000 kms a year, it is better to go with Petrol. From 10,000 to 40,000 LPG and beyond that only Diesel. This is approx kms to indicate the usage type of you. Also note that in Diesel car, you need to gear your car atleast once in 3 days and drive for atleast 10 kms.
Second, decide about the classification. If you are the only one to travel go for hatch-backs and with your family greater than 5 should go for SUVs. For an ideal family like 3 or 4 can go for any model of car based on their budget.
