Indian Diplomacy – The Art of Protocol

Diplomacy is carried out by a Diplomat, and a Diplomat is a one who exhibits Diplomacy! Sounds crazy? Yes, we are such!

Diplomats aren’t intelligent people, but they are a step ahead of Intellectuals and Smarts. The inspiration comes from various sources, for me, it was from Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord, a French Diplomat. Ok, how does it feel when you are being addressed as a Diplomat. Initially, I didn’t admit to being addressed as Diplomat because I strongly believed that one should be Diplomatic enough to be addressed such. It took almost 4.5 years to get into the primary level elevation.

People may have different opinions and ideas about a Diplomat. Oh! Yeah, PEOPLE means a more extensive set of definition.

For my parents, they weren’t sure what was going around them. They saw VVIPs and VIPs poping at my house, speaking with them at my chamber and the usual eastern culture wanted to get most of the photos with them by my parents.

For my dogs, their freedom was gone. Unwanted people are visiting me, spoiling their sleep. Earlier they were happy that they were getting lots of goodies from Pedigree to Chocolates and more. They were badly missing me whenever I was on some assignment.

For my relatives, they don’t even know what the hell was going with me. They assumed, presumed and created a bunch of irrelevant stories and gossips about my work style, culture and financial moves.

For my friends, they are excited about the foreign trip which they voluntarily go as well as I drag their pants with me. Medical Treatments, Numanistics, Chocolates and Duty-Free Alcohols wide-open their eyes.

For my batchmates and acquaintances, they are happy to appoint me as their personal tour guide which I am so glad to. One stop solution for VISAs and other information.

For Indian Diaspora, they celebrate us and see as a fantabulous representation from their motherland. And that too if we speak a bit of their language, personified just like their family member. If there had been a provision, they would have even included us.

For potential India visitors, we are the sample. Scratching from head to toe and giving advises and serving as a virtual tour guide. We created a fabulous view of India before they could ever visit. Giving financial advises to the level of forex consultant to teaching about to bargain in Karol Bagh.

For other Diplomats, we share lots of similarities and experience the same quantity of blood while serving, which will be discussed only among the same minded people. Travel tired, jet lags, political collapses, leader bluffs and more such.

For myself, there is nothing such remarkable to mention here. I have lost the freedom of expression, flexibility to chatterbox and hang out with most of the people (human beings). Everyone now calls me on a purpose and agenda.

Cool then 🙂
